Heyheyhey! I'm Julie, living in beautiful BC, Canada. I'm Filipino (Funny little Island Person), but I used to live in Jakarta,Indonesia (GMIS!). I go to Burnaby Central Secondary, Go Wildcats (rawr!). I like turning up the music and "getting jiggy with it". haha I'm a YFC-er, band geek, and an almost straight-A student. What can I say? I'm Asian.

HI FROM INDONESIA!

Holy frick, this whole week has been a blur that I didn't even know that today was Christmas Eve!

I visited the Philippines for only a few days, but that's okay. Those few days were VERY crazy days. We arrived in the morning, after a surprisingly "pleasant" flight (except for this very turbulency part where the juice got thrown off the desk thingy and spilt juice on my sister). We visited the Mall of Asia, and that is one frickin huge mall! I also realized how lucky we really are to live in Canada and stuff. Seriously! Traffic is crazy there, pollution, poverty.....

But the people are so happy and welcoming, and that makes up for everything else!

Now I'm in Indonesia, I arrived here just yesterday midnight. I'm getting used to the heat, it's not that bad. :-) But right now, I'm just here using the computer and I'm already sweating. haha you didn't need to know that.. so far, my vacation has been really great! Lots of memories it brings back, everything looks so much smaller!

So I just wanted to say...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hope you guys are having a good christmas break!

THANK YOU

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE MY BIRTHDAY THE BEST BIRTHDAY I'VE HAD IN THE LONGEST TIME!

Thanks to everyone who greeted me Happy Birthday, including the GMIS people. :)

I had a great time at the CFC Christmas Party! From the thoughtful card that the YFC-ers signed in (thank you Jac!), GOOD FOOD, nervously overcoming my fear of playing the violin solo in front of a huge crowd, presenting the Burnaby YFC dance, and having everyone sing 'Happy Birthday' to me!

Thank you to the Burnaby Central people who came to my party today! I'm sorry for not spending  more time with each and everyone of you, but you've made this the best birthday party in a long time. From watching movies, TRYING to play games, singing Happy Birthday to me, and the whole thing with the grape juice and wine glasses. :-) There wouldn't have been a party if you guys weren't there! And thanks to Leah and Kim for decorating my locker!

The best part is just being surrounded by caring family and friends :) haha, so corny.. but I honestly mean what I say! This weekend has been a blast, and it truly was a SWEET SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY.

WITH LOVE,

6 DAYS

Sledding with my mom and sister! (my face predicted we were headed for trouble)

The snow has been making me extra happy and extra tired this week. :-) Making a snowman, sledding, snowball fights, and seeing the pretty scenerey makes up for lugging 20 kg of salt from Rona to my house, shoveling, getting even more sick, toes and fingers becoming numb, slipping on unshoveled sidewalks (darn you people!), flipping out while sledding, and heater not working. I love snow!

My birthday's coming up on Saturday, December 9!

And other (extremely) good news, it's official: I'M VISITING THE PHILIPPINES AND INDONESIA THIS DECEMBER! Mark your calendars, GMIS people! Cuz I'm coming!

A little something

God, make me brave for life: oh, braver than this.

Let me straighten after pain, as a tree straightens after the rain,
Shining and lovely again.
God, make me brave for life; much braver than this.
As the blown grass lifts, let me rise
From sorrow with quiet eyes,
Knowing Thy way is wise.
God, make me brave, life brings
Such blinding things.
Help me to keep my sight;
Help me to see aright
That out of dark comes light.

UBC IS HUGE!

BCMEA Honour Orchestra & Honour Band

Saturday, 3.30 pm
Chan Centre - UBC
$10.00

I was in so much awe when I walked in the Chan Centre at UBC for the Honour Orchestra rehearsals. It's so pretty! Anyways, things are going pretty good. I "explored" the campus today with Mandy, and had to use a map so we didn't get lost. It's interesting how everything was so unlike high school! Everyone was all busy with their laptops, rushing to their classes, and studying or something. And err, not to offend anyone, but I did not see a single gangster!

Amazing huh?
